Paid, To pay and To be billed
Every bilty says how the freight will be paid. Getting this right is what makes sure the money actually comes in.
The three terms
| Term | Meaning | Who pays |
|---|---|---|
| Paid | Freight paid at booking | Usually the consignor |
| To pay | Freight collected at delivery | The consignee, before taking the goods |
| To be billed (TBB) | Freight billed later, often monthly | A regular party with a credit account |
Pick the term under Freight, and who pays under "Freight paid by". The payer becomes the customer for that freight in the Nivesh Sahayak App, so its dues show against the right party.
Advances
For To pay or TBB, a part may be paid in advance at booking. Type it under "Advance received": the bilty shows the balance to collect.
Collecting To pay freight
- The destination branch collects the balance before handing over the goods.
- Large cash payments have limits under the Income Tax law; for big amounts take UPI or a bank transfer.
- Record the money with a payment receipt against the LR number.
Freight bill for TBB parties
Choose "Freight bill" under Print as to print the same booking as a bill for the party. Open the free Nivesh Sahayak App to see every unpaid freight of a party in one statement and send a WhatsApp reminder.
